The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has once again rebutted the allegations made by the YSRCP district president and former MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy on the death of cows in the TTD-run dairy farm ‘Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshanasala’ due to negligence and appealed to the public not to believe his words.

The TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, accompanied by board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy and Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani and others, visited the dairy farm on Sunday and inspected the cows, the quality of fodder meant to be provided to them and other amenities extended to the cattle.

Speaking to the media, he said there was no negligence on the part of the management or the staff and rubbished the charges. “Mr. Karunakar Reddy, who was formerly the Chairman of the TTD Trust Board, is bent on maligning the reputation of the same institution he headed in the past. Cows are treated like a mother and are provided with feed and extended medical services whenever necessary”, he affirmed.

‘False propaganda’

Dubbing the charges as false propaganda, Mr. Naidu said that the photos of deceased cows, as shown by Mr. Karunakar Reddy to the media, were not at all related to the TTD.

“In fact, the vigilance report has clearly established that expired medicines and worm-infested fodder were provided during Mr. Karunakar Reddy’s regime. The dates of some photos were deliberately changed to show that the cows died during the present dispensation”, he said and presented copies of the vigilance report to the media.

Mr. Naidu warned that the government would not spare the former TTD Chairman if he continued to spread false allegations to gain political mileage. “As an atheist, Mr. Karunakar Reddy has no fear of God and has so much of hatred against Hindus and hence speaking lies”, he said.
