The Railway police on Thursday arrested two labourers for allegedly pushing a 28-year-old passenger from a moving train following argument over space on Tuesday.
The accused were identified as Devappa, 45, a gardener, and Peerappa, 31, a wall painter from Kalaburagi.
According to the police, the incident happened on the Yesvantpur-Bidar train. The duo were sitting by the door near the washroom when the victim Kumar M.G., a resident of the Channarayapattana, came to accommodate himself sparking an argument over space.
In the melee, the duo allegedly overpowered Kumar and pushed him off the moving train. Kumar fell off and died on the tracks.
The Bengaluru Cantonment railway police registered a case and after a detailed probe tracked down the duo. The duo has been charged of murder.
In another incident, the HSR Layout police have arrested two labourers for allegedly bludgeoning a puncture shop owner to death and injuring his friend over a trivial row on Tuesday night.
The accused Prakash and Kumaresha from Ramanagara had gone to purchase a generator at a shop in Mangammanapalya around 11 p.m.
The victim Noorulla, who owned a puncture shop close by, observed the duo moving suspiciously and confronted them. Following an argument,the duo allegedly attacked Noorulla with an iron rod. While Noorulla sustained a severe head injury, his friend Manikanta who tried to rescue him was also attacked and sustained multiple fracture injuries .
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where Noorulla succumbed to his injuries later. The HSR layout police arrested the duo charging them under murder and attempt to murder.
