Hundreds of Congress workers marched to the Kerala Raj Bhavan, accusing the Central government of giving political cover to the Adani group and failing to bring peace to strife-torn Manipur.

Inaugurating the march, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K. Sudhakaran said the group’s high honcho, Gautam Adani, was a front for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corruption. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi zealously promoted Mr Adani’s global business interests while shielding him from investigations at home and abroad.

Leader of the Opposition V. D. Satheesan said the BJP-led Manipur government was complicit in the violence against minorities in the State. He said the miscreants used weapons “conveniently looted” from police facilities to target their perceived enemies in the region.

The police stopped the protest march well away from the Raj Bhavan.
