“The police arrested YSRCP former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi as he resorted to threaten a witness in the case relating to vandalisation of the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) Gannavaram office,” observed the Minister for Agriculture Kinjarapu Atchannaidu.
Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat on Thursday (February 13, 2025), Mr. Atchannaidu said that Mr. Vamsi along with some others threatened Mudunuri Satyavardhan, an eye witness in the Gannavaram TDP office attack case and also a complainant in the same case. Mr. Satyavardhan was working as a computer operator at the TDP’s Gannavaram office, when the party office was vandalised by the YSRCP followers, observed Mr. Atchannaidu.
“As the YSRCP leaders threatened him, Mr. Satyavardhan withdrew the case,” Mr. Atchannaidu added. The Minister further said the police now arrested Mr. Vamsi based on a complaint from Mr. Satyavardhan’s mother.
He said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and the NDA government did not resort to revenge politics. He added that, even though the TDP cadre and followers have been criticising the government for not taking any action on the YSRCP leaders for the harassments faced by them for the last five years, the NDA government had restrained them from indulging in any kind of political revenge.
