20 illegal Bangladeshis held in Mumbai since Shariful’s arrest | India News

Mumbai police’s drive to identify, arrest, and deport illegal Bangladeshi nationals has gained momentum following attack on Saif last week. Around 20 such people have been caught since arrest of suspected assailant, Bangladeshi national Shariful Fakir (30) on Jan 19, who had illegally entered India and found work in Mumbai.
Police said in past 20 days, 138 such illegal Bangladeshi nationals were arrested, many of whom had fake documents, including Aadhaar and PAN cards and driving licences. Crack teams have been set up at 93 police stations and special branch and police stations were directed to conduct operations in slums, restaurants, hotels and bars.
