The special court for Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) cases in Nampally on Thursday has granted four-day custody for questioning of suspended assistant executive engineer of Irrigation Department, Herur Nikesh Kumar, who was earlier arrested by the ACB in a case of disproportionate assets.
The accused official will be questioned at the City Range Office in Nampally from December 12 to December 15, an official close to the investigation said.
Extensive searches conducted at Kumar’s residence in Peeramcheru and 19 other locations linked to him and his relatives uncovered movable and immovable assets valued at an estimated ₹17.73 crore.
The investigation revealed that Kumar allegedly amassed wealth far exceeding his known sources of income by engaging in unlawful activities and corrupt practices during his tenure. The officials had said the market value of the assets is significantly higher.
