A class 10 student allegedly ended her life at her house in Srinagar on Wednesday.
According to the police, the deceased Bhumika was preparing for a competitive exam and was reportedly reprimanded by her parents for neglecting her studies. Miffed, Bhumika allegedly went to her room, locked herself, and ended her life. The parents noticed no response from her room after a long time and eventually broke open the door.
Bhumika’s father is a farmer from Kunigal and she has an elder brother who is a BCom student. The family had shifted to Bengaluru for the children’s education, the police said.
The police have taken up a case of unnatural death and efforts are on to ascertain the exact reason for her extreme step.
