Congress and BJP cadres clashed in Narsampet area in the combined Warangal district on Saturday over displaying the pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As the government started the distribution of fine rice at the fair price shops, a group of BJP activists in Narsampet area tried to tie a poster of PM Narendra Modi at the fair price shop. Congress activists objected to it and removed the poster. Police later dispersed them.
BJP activists argued that Central government also contributes for the distribution of free rice to the people and PM Modi’s photo should be displayed at the counter.
Reacting to the incident, Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay said displaying PM’s photo was a must as the Central government provides a major share of the rice. “We don’t have any objection to the posters of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy but the poster of PM Modi should be displayed at the same place,” he said.
