Collector S. Venkateswar called for steps by the academic fraternity to encourage book reading habit among the youth.
Accompanied by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s honorary director N. Satyanarayana Raju, he visited the ongoing 17th Tirupati Book Festival at Vinayaka Nagar grounds here on Saturday, and browsed through the array of books in various stalls. Mr. Venkateswar informed the visitors about the advantage of having good books as company.
Dr. Raju explained the efforts taken by institution in hosting the annual event and the logistical difficulties faced in bringing publication houses from across the country. He also elaborated on the efforts made towards bringing literary personalities, spiritual orators and music artists under one roof. The expo ends on Sunday.
