BJP national organisational elections’ returning officer K. Laxman called upon the cadres to make concerted efforts to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming party elections in a democratic manner and insisted that ‘nation first’ should always be their motto.

Participating as the chief guest in a Sanghatan Parv workshop here on Saturday, Mr. Laxman said BJP was the only party in India that had internal democracy, and exhorted the leaders and the grassroot workers to strengthen it by electing able leaders who were committed to the ideals espoused by the party founders.

He asserted that the country was poised for all-round development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stressed the need for the party to help him achieve the objective of making India a developed nation.

Mr. Laxman suggested that the BJP leaders appoint an election observer for every three districts and to have proper coordination to conduct the elections in an efficient manner.

BJP State president and Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari said 11 crore new members were enrolled in the country in 2024 and the party’s new membership in Andhra Pradesh stood at 25 lakh.

By winning various Assembly elections recently, the BJP had once again proved its mettle and there was still room for improvement in the coming years, she said, adding that India was set to make its mark on the global stage under Mr. Modi’s leadership.

BJP national executive member Somu Veerraju, party elections’ State returning officer P. Satyanarayana, MLAs P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, Kamineni Srinivas, Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy, V. Parthasarathy and N. Eswara Rao were among those present.
