Kadapa Zilla Archaka and Purohita Sangam announced it would organise a procession called ‘Mahadevuni Sobhayatra’ in the city on Sunday (February 23) in connection with the Maha Kumbh Mela.
The holy Ganga water brought from Prayagraj will be sprinkled on the devout and shared with the public during the procession, for the benefit of those who could not make it to the sacred ‘Mahakumbh Mela’, happening once in 144 years.
The Sangam’s president Pidathala Gopalakrishna Sarma, general secretary Varanasi Sridhar Sarma and honorary president Chandramouli Sarma addressed media persons, along with Sobhayatra convener Vijayananda Reddy, at Mrityunjayakuta Sivalayam on Friday (February 21).
They announced that the event would also have traditional and folk art forms such as Chekka Bhajana, Kolatam and classical music and dance ballets.
