MLA assures quick solution to Srikalahasti land issue

Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy has assured the public to find a quick solution to the spate of land issues in the Rajiv Nagar area of Srikalahasti town in Tirupati district.

The land allocation issue has turned out to be a huge headache for the Alliance government, as it is fighting a tough battle to rectify the mistakes allegedly committed during the previous YSRCP regime and annulling the anomalies resulting out of multiple registrations.

Mr. Reddy received applications and representations from the public at the Panchayat Raj guesthouse in Srikalahasti on Wednesday. Interestingly, a sizeable number of representations pertained to land issues, where several pattas had allegedly been created using fake documents, resulting in multiple registrations of the same land parcels.

Political quagmire

The issue has become a political quagmire for the incumbent government, as it must satisfy the eligible beneficiaries without hurting the original landowners.

The erstwhile government has erratically issued multiple pattas on the same plots to benefit its party workers, which has become a headache for us. We are rectifying problem to benefit every eligible beneficiary, Mr. Sudheer Reddy told the media.

The government is planning to allot the readily-available TIDCO houses to the 3,700 beneficiaries soon.
