The Parappa block in Kasaragood district of Kerala has won the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration-2024 in the category Aspirational Blocks Programme.
District Collector K. Inbasekar will receive the award in New Delhi on April 21, observed as Civil Services Day.
Parappa was selected first among 426 Aspiration Blocks across the country for its achievements under a development model focussed on bridging gaps in administration and welfare. The recognition comes for excellence in areas such as health, social welfare, agriculture, tribal welfare and entrepreneurship development.
Mr. Inbasekar credited the success to collaborative efforts across departments and effective planning. He extended gratitude to Parappa block panchayat president M. Lakshmi and presidents of seven grama panchayats, including T.K Ravi (Kinnanur-Karinathalam), Raju Kattakayam (Balal), Joseph Mutholi (East Eleri), Girija Mohan (West Eleri), Prasanna Prasad (Panathady), T. K Narayanan (Kallar), and P Sreeja (Kodom-Belur).
Acknowledging the role of officials, he offered special thanks to District Planning Officer T Rajesh and team for their efforts.
