Police stop Chhaava screening at street corners in Belagavi district

Belagavi Police halted screening of the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava at some street corners in Belagavi and other towns on Saturday.

Some youth organisations were showing the recorded version of the film on white screens, using tractor mounted projectors.

The police said that the shows were stopped as they were being done without permission from them and other authorities concerned.

Officers had to stop shows in Belagavi, Kadoli and Nippani. A case has been registered in Nippani.

The film is running in four cinemas in Belagavi now.

The police said that they did not receive any complaint from anyone against the street screenings. But they took action as they were being done without permission.
