A man impersonating a qualified medical practitioner was arrested by the Rachakonda police on Thursday for operating an unauthorised clinic in Old Mallapur, Nacharam.
The accused, identified as Bikash Goladar, 21, is alleged to have gained some knowledge of general medicine while working at various clinics in the past. With the intent of making easy money, he is said to have set up a clinic and operated it under false pretences for the past six months, an officer from the Nacharam police said.
“Despite having no formal medical qualifications or registration with the medical council, Bikash printed a prescription pad in his name and began treating patients. He conducted medical assessments and prescribed medicines without proper diagnostic procedures or legitimate authority, thereby endangering the lives of unsuspecting individuals,” explained the officer.
Based on credible information, the police conducted a raid on the premises and arrested him.
