Red sanders smuggling: Andhra police takes three accused into custody in Gujarat

In continuation of the Gujarat Red Sanders operation, Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) DSP Sharief and his team reached Patan in Gujarat. With the help of local police, the team arrested three accused in connection with red sanders smuggling. Uttamkumar Nandakishor Soni, a resident of Deesa, Joshi Hansraj, a resident of Patan and Thakur Pareshji, a resident of Patan, were taken into custody. The team also seized 155 red sanders logs, weighing about five tonnes and worth about ₹5 crore and one car. The team would produce the accused before a magistrate for a transit warrant. All the seized material and the accused would be shifted to Tirupati for further process, according to a press release issued on Friday (December 13).
