Take precautions to prevent, combat summer forest fires: Khandre

Ahead of the summer season, Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre has directed forest officials to be alert to prevent forest fires.

Mr. Khandre has asked officials to take precautionary measures to prevent forest fires from occurring and also directed them to keep firefighting equipment and personnel on standby to extinguish it in the eventuality of fires.

The Minister has also sought details of the forest fires in Charmadi Ghat forest area. He has sought details on the extent of the damage caused to the forest by the fire that recently broke out in Bidirutala forest area of ​​Charmadi Ghat in Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagaluru district. “How long did it take for the officials to receive information about the forest fire and how long did it take to extinguish the fire,” he has asked officials.

Mr. Khandre has also directed them to provide details of the above within seven days.
