Three-day Sahyadri Utsav begins at Kuvempu University campus

Three-day Sahyadri Utsava began at Kuvempu University campus near Shivamogga on Monday.

Sahyadri Utsav, a three-day cultural competition for students of Kuvempu University, began at the university campus at Shankarghatta in Bhadravati taluk on Monday. The students from different colleges in Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts take part in the university-level competitions.

The event began with a procession—Samskrutika Jatha – on the campus. Around 25 groups from different colleges performed different forms of dance and folk art forms in the procession.

University Vice-Chancellor Sharath Ananthamurthy and registrar A.L. Manjunath garlanded the statue of Kuvempu. Folk singer Mahadeva Swamy and actress Aditi Shetty were guests.
