Three people, including a two-year-old child, were killed after their car reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a stray animal near Gobbur (K) village in Afzalpur taluk of Kalaburagi district on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as 70-year-old Ayeesh, 30-year-old Ajmera and two-year-old Zainab, residents of Millat Nagar in Kalaburagi.
As per sources, the accident occurred when the family was returning home after attending a tonsure ceremony of their relative’s newborn baby at Akkalkot dargah in Maharashtra.
A stray dog suddenly appeared in front of their vehicle and in an attempt to avoid hitting the animal, the driver made a sharp turn and the vehicle ended up hitting a roadside tree.
A case has been registered at Deval Ganagapur Police Station.
