Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer (EO) J. Syamala Rao has appealed to the employees to serve the pilgrims with dedication, drawing inspiration from national leaders who played an instrumental role in the Indian freedom struggle.
At the 76th Republic Day celebrations held at the TTD’s parade grounds here on Sunday, January 26, Mr. Rao recalled that the TTD had provided ‘Vaikunta Dwara Darshan’ to nearly 7 lakh devotees in 10 days starting on January 10. The EO appreciated the tireless efforts of the employees and explained the TTD’s efforts to ensure the quality of the ‘Annaprasadam’ and ‘laddu prasadam’ served to the devotees.
On the occasion, 36 officers and 267 employees received merit awards for exhibiting exceptional skills in their line of duty.
The dog show organised by the TTD’s Vigilance and Security wing was a special attraction of the Republic Day celebrations. The dogs, Virat, Simba, and Beauty, exhibited amazing skills, including participating in group drills, detecting explosives and drugs, and apprehending antisocial elements.
Meanwhile, the EO informed that the Srivari model temple installed at the Kumbh Mela site of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, as part of the Hindu Dharma Prachara initiative, has been drawing huge crowds. “The daily Sevas performed akin to Tirumala are attracting the devotees in North India. The ‘Srivari Kalyanam’ conducted there as part of the rituals is an added attraction,” Mr. Rao added.
The Executive Officer recalled the MoU signed with TVS Motor Company to prepare meals using state-of-the-art machinery to ensure quality, hygiene, and taste. A similar agreement has been made with Reliance Retails to guide the selection of quality raw materials used in the preparation of ‘prasadam’. “The TTD will implement a new policy for issuing canteen management licenses to leading companies in India to prepare quality food items in big and Janata canteens at Tirumala.”
Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, Joint EO V. Veerabrahmam, Law Officer Varaprasad Rao, Chief Engineer Satyanarayana, Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer O. Balaji, Chief PRO T. Ravi, Additional CV&SO P. Sivakumar Reddy took part.
