A 62-year-old woman was killed after being struck by lightning at Chithudaiyar near Sendurai on Thursday.
The victim, identified V. Indira Gandhi, was killed on the spot.
According to sources, the tragedy occurred when she was herding goats and sheep for grazing.
Two goats were killed in a lightning strike at Senthurai.
