One person was killed and at least 12 others were injured after a private bus of Sugama Travels on the Mysuru–Raichur route met with an accident on the Agalagurki flyover on the Chikkaballapur bypass on January 19.
According to the police, the accident occurred when the bus, which was carrying 28 passengers, collided with a container truck while the driver was attempting to overtake another vehicle.

The impact resulted in injuries to 12 bus passengers, three of whom sustained serious injuries and were referred to hospitals in Bengaluru for advanced treatment. The remaining injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
The container truck driver succumbed to injuries at the spot, police stated.
Traffic on the busy bypass road was disrupted for some time following the accident, but was later cleared after the damaged vehicles were removed.
Chikkaballapur Superintendent of Police Kushal Chowksey visited the accident site, and supervised the rescue and relief operation, officials said.
