Bengaluru Mock Drill: In Karnataka, Bengaluru Urban, Malleshwaram and Raichur have been chosen for a nationwide civil defence mock drill scheduled for May 7, 2025. This drill is part of a major exercise planned by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to strengthen emergency preparedness across 244 locations in the country.

The mock drill will take place amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following a recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that killed 26 people, including a local pony handler. In response to growing security concerns, the central government is aiming to test and improve the readiness of civil defence systems through this countrywide exercise.

Mock Drill In Other Metro Cities

Metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Patna, Chandigarh and Bengaluru are among 244 selected locations. The activities during the mock drill will include checking air raid warning systems, reviewing communication lines with the Indian Air Force and testing control rooms and shadow rooms.
