The Raichur District Police have registered a case against four people, including three women, for assaulting a 28-year-old woman after tying her hands up with a rope in Jalahalli village of Deodurg taluk, Raichur district.
The victim identified as Dandamma Ramanna Sunagar is a native of Jalahalli. The accused also attacked the victim’s mother when she tried to save her daughter.
In her complaint, the victim has said that Basavaraj, Yankamma, Durgamma, Renamma and several others tied her hands up and assaulted her, accusing her of being involved in the death of Rangappa who was the brother of the accused Basavaraj.
The incident occurred on Monday and the Jalahalli Police rushed to the spot and shifted her immediately to hospital to get her treatment.
According to sources, Rangappa was found dead last month and Dandamma was reportedly with him. Suspecting her involvement in Rangappa’s death, the accused and others assaulted her.
The police, who have registered a case in connection with the death of Rangappa, are waiting for forensics report to ascertain the real cause.
The police have now launched a manhunt for the accused who are absconding.
The case has been registered under Sections 126(2), 74, 115(2), 352, and 351(2), read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita.
