Raichur City Corporation Commissioner Jubin Mohapatra has said that the district has been chosen for the Deendayal Jan Ajivik Yojana under the National Urban Livelihood Mission.
“Under this project, six identified weaker categories should be strengthened with self-employment. Therefore, the officers of the government departments should submit information about registered workers from these categories, inputs and other details within the respective departments in three days,” he added.
He was addressing a meeting in Raichur on Thursday.
Mr. Mohapatra said that self-employment should be provided under the project to all unemployed people who come under the identified six weaker categories such as construction workers, transport workers, freelance workers, caretakers, waste disposal workers and domestic workers.
Therefore, officers of the departments should come with details on how employment will be provided to them, along with increasing their income. The consolidated report will be submitted to the government in 15 days.
The project has been extended to 25 city corporations in 13 States in the country and the city corporations of Kalaburagi, Raichur and Tumakuru have been selected for the project in the State.
Skill Development Officer G.U. Uded, Deputy Superintendent of Police Satyanarayana, Community Coordinator Krishna Kattimani, District Labour Officer Arati and others were present.
