Raichur Deputy Commissioner Nitish K. has placed an officer of the Backward Classes Welfare Department under suspension on the charge of negligence in conducting social and educational survey which began on September 22.
In a release here on Saturday, Mr. Nitish stated that Ramesh G. Rathod was assigned the social and educational survey work in Lingsugur taluk. But he was negligent in carrying out the survey as instructed.
His negligent attitude caused a set-back to the survey and this was brought to the notice of the Deputy Commission through a written statement by the Lingsugur Tahsildar and members of the survey team during a meeting in Raichur recently.
Following the written statement, the Deputy Commissioner took action against the officer by placing him under suspension on the charge of negligence and dereliction of duty.
