Two die in lightning strike in Raichur district

Two persons, including a woman, and three livestock died in different lightning incidents in Raichur district on Friday.

They were identified as 45-year-old Hanumanth Yadav of Marchatahal village and 50-year-old Mallamma of Udamgal-Khanapur village in Raichur taluk.

A case has been registered at Yaragora police station.

A cow and two buffaloes also died in Mattur village, in Mudgal police station limits.

Two drown

Two devotees from Devanahalli in Bengaluru Rural district drowned in the Tungabhadra near Ele Bichali village in Raichur taluk on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Madan and Muthuraj. 

The victims came to Ele Bichali village after having darshan of Sri Raghavendra Swamy at Mantralayam in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district.

The incident occurred when they ventured into the river for a swim and got caught in a whirlpool, sources said.

A case has been registered at Yaragera police station.
