Cristiano Ronaldo, considered one of the greatest athletes in modern sport, is now 40 but he is still going strong on and off the field. The ‘CR7 brand reached a record value of 850 million euros in 2025, according to a report in Marca. The Portuguese talisman, who currently plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, is in hot pursuit of 1000 career goals on the football field. And away from the green pastures, his valuation has soared constantly.

Spanish publication Marca quoted a study by IPAM (Portuguese Institute of Administration and Marketing), that the 850 million euro valuation is based on “28 variables distributed in six dimensions: income, media, social networks, achievements, social influence and impact.” The study is based on IPAM’s Sports Reputation Index. In contrast to the valuation in 2025, CR7’s brand value was at 24.5 million euros back in 2011. Just since 2020, the valuation has jumped by 325%.

According to an update on the IPAM website, Cristiano “currently earns €200 million a year at Al Nassr and €150 million in advertising contracts with global brands such as Nike, Tag Heuer and Louis Vuitton. On social media, he has become the most followed figure in the world, with over 1 billion followers.” Cristiano currently has 114.7M followers on X (formerly Twitter) and 649M followers on Instagram, in both cases the most followed sportsperson on that platform.

The report in Marca added: “Another significant fact provided by the study is that CR7 generates an average of 22.3 million newspaper articles a year worldwide, as well as another 187 million annual searches on Google. He is also mentioned in 4,000 books on Amazon and appears in 63,000 scientific articles.”

Cristiano, who turned 40 on Wednesday, has never been short of self-confidence. “I am the greatest scorer in history,” Ronaldo said recently in an interview with Spanish television channel La Sexta. “Although I am not left-footed, I am in the top 10 in history for goals scored with the left foot. These are numbers, I am the most complete player who has ever existed. I play well with my head, I take good free kicks, I am fast, I am strong, I jump… I have never seen anyone better than me.”
