Asian Table Tennis Championships LIVE Updates: All eyes will be on the women’s doubles pair of Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee when the women’s doubles duo face Japan’s Miwa Harimoto and Miyuu Kihara in the semi-finals of the Asian Table Tennis Championships in Kazakhstan’s Astana on Sunday.

Just days after the India women’s table tennis team won their first-ever bronze medal at the Asian Table Tennis Championships, Sutirtha and Ayhika confirmed another historic medal for India. The duo defeated Kim Nayeong and Lee Eunhye 3-1 (10-12, 11-7, 11-9, 11-8) of South Korea in the quarter-finals.

And by reaching the semi-finals, the duo have confirmed themselves of at least a bronze medal. With the win over the Koreans, Sutirtha and Ayhika became the first-ever women’s doubles pair to seal a medal at the Asian Table Tennis Championships.
