Spread the News

Virat Kohli racked up his 100th half century in T20 cricket after racing to the milestone at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Sunday while guiding Royal Challengers’ Bengaluru’s chase of 174 runs in an Indian Premier League clash against Rajasthan Royals. Thanks to Kohli’s half century on Sunday, he now also has 66 scores of 50+ runs in the IPL, which makes him the batter with the most 50+ scores in the league along with Australia’s David Warner.

In the list of top 50+ scores in the IPL, Shikhar Dhawan is behind Kohli and Warner with 53 such innings. The next active IPL player on the list is Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma who has 45 scores of 50+ runs in IPL.

The RCB talisman also finds himself in 5th spot in the Orange Cap race after the knock, having score 240 runs from his six innings in IPL 2025 (at an average of 60 and a strike rate of 142.01).

On Sunday, Kohli got to the milestone in some style as well, dancing down the track to smash Wanindu Hasaranga’s delivery over the Sri Lankan’s head for a maximum. Thanks to Kohli’s unbeaten half century score and Phil Salt’s 55 off 33 balls, RCB chased down the target by losing just one wicket with 15 balls to spare. Kohli ended the game with an unbeaten 62 off 45 balls, a knock which had four boundaries and two sixes. This is now RCB’s fourth win away from home and the team from Karnataka finds itself in the 3rd spot in the IPL 2025 points table, tied with three other teams (Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants) who all have eight points ahead of Delhi’s IPL clash with Mumbai.

Kohli was given a reprieve from Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag, who dropped the RCB batter early on. He made the most of the chance and made RR pay.
