ICC Chairman Jay Shah, along with his family, arrived at Prayagraj on January 27 to attend the Maha Kumbh, a festival steeped in spirituality and tradition. Shah’s presence at the grand event added to the list of high-profile attendees, including sporting icons like Suresh Raina and Mary Kom. Dressed in traditional attire, Shah was seen arriving at the Prayagraj airport with his wife and daughter.

Shah, who assumed the role of ICC Chairman on December 1, has been an influential figure in global cricket administration. Beyond this, Shah has also been inducted into the World Cricket Connects Advisory Board, a newly established independent body. This board will convene its first meeting at Lord’s on June 7-8 to address challenges and opportunities within the sport and foster international collaboration.

Jay Shah is also at the forefront of managing the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, which will be conducted in a hybrid format across Pakistan and Dubai. This decision follows significant controversy, stemming from India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan—the originally designated sole host of the tournament—due to security concerns.

Other stars who visited Maha Kumbh

The Maha Kumbh has drawn notable attendees this year. Former India cricketer Suresh Raina shared glimpses of his spiritual journey, posting photos of his sacred dip in the Ganga, describing it as an unforgettable experience.

Olympic boxing icon Mary Kom also participated in the festivities, engaging with visitors and partaking in traditional rituals at the Maha Kumbh.
