The tattoo stakes at Kolkata Knight Riders were raised when Australian international cricket star, legspinner Amanda Wellington posted she was thrilled to match inkings with Kolkata Knight Riders pacer, Vaibhav Arora. Game sees game and all that. Arora had “You are your own limit. Remember what you started” in a cross running over his carpels, just like the Aussie. But Rinku Singh recalled his original KKR-inspired tattoo, dating back to 2018.
Speaking on KKR’s Knight Bite cookery episode on YouTube, Rinku told chef Kunal Khanna all about his five distinct tattoos on his forearms.
On the left is ‘God’s plan’ engraved into a design. But it’s the right arm that has the inkings closest to him that signified his IPL journey. “When I was picked in 2018 by KKR, we had no money, no house, no things. But picked for 80 lakh, my life changed, life got easy for me, my parents and siblings. Hence I have the word Family written,” Rinku said.
There was also a rose. “It signifies a blooming flower, the start of a beautiful journey. Rose khil gayaa,” he explained.
However the most impressive tattoo for Rinku was a clock dial with the time stopped at 2:21, and his fortunes changed. “I got picked, shaayad do bajke ikkis ya bees baje. Mera samay badlaa,” Rinku explained.

KL Rahul has 11O’clock inked as his birth time.
There’s also assorted other symbols on Rinku. “Thoda peace & udaan,” Rinku stated. Peace and taking flight in life.
Some of Indian cricket’s most famous tattoos as per GQ, are Virat Kohli’s Samurai on his left bicep (amongst 11), Suryakumar Yadav’s 18 tats including his parents’ portraits and an Aztec sleeve, Hardik Pandya’s lion on his forearm, and KL Rahul’s pet dog on his back.
