Beth Mooney on Friday became the first Australian woman to record hundreds in all formats during the Women’s Ashes Test against England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Resuming from her overnight score of 98, wicket-keeper Mooney brought up her century in 155 balls as Australia piled on a mammoth 440 in reply to England’s 170.
Mooney is only the fourth woman to score a hundred in all formats after England’s Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont, and South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt. The 31-year-old Mooney has piled on 2553 runs in 82 ODIs, averaging over 47 besides 3215 runs in T20Is at 41.21 with a high score of 117 not out.

Mooney is also the fourth Australian to achieve the landmark after Shane Watson, Glenn Maxwell and David Warner.
Mooney also joined her teammate Annabel Sutherland as the only women Test century honour board at the MCG. The 23-year-old Sutherland had earlier hit 163 on Friday. Mooney also vaulted to the fourth spot for most international runs by Australian women, surpassing Karen Rolton (6,221). Only contemporaries Meg Lanning (8,352), Ellyse Perry (7,224) and Alyssa Healy (6,741) have scored more runs for Australia than Mooney.
The first of Mooney’s six international hundreds came against New Zealand in Auckland in 2017. Her maiden T20I century also occurred the same year at Manuka Oval during the Ashes. Mooney’s second T20I hundred was against Sri Lanka in 2019, while her second and third one-day hundreds were struck against India and Pakistan in 2023.
